Okunbor group of schools
The story of Okunbor Group of Schools began in 1986 as a small lesson home in Uwelu. What started as a simple initiative soon became a life-changing opportunity for many children in the community.
Founded by Pastor Success Nosa Okunbor, the lesson centre was established out of passion and a deep desire to help children who were unable to afford expensive private education. With only three teachers and a small number of students, the focus was clear to provide access to quality education and build a strong academic foundation.
In the early years, the core subjects taught were Mathematics, Arithmetic, English, and Social Studies. As the number of students increased and the impact of the school became evident, the lesson home gradually developed into a full school.
In 1991, the school officially began operating as a primary institution. By 1994, it received approval from the Edo State Government to run as a recognized school. Due to continuous growth and demand, the secondary school section was established in 1997, expanding the vision to provide complete educational development from early years to senior level.

Pastor Nosa Success Okunbor is a respected and honorable leader with a strong passion for education and character development. As the proprietor of Okunbor Group of Schools, he is committed to raising disciplined, confident, and academically sound students. Through his vision and dedication, the school has continued to grow as a centre of excellence, built on strong moral and academic values
Co-Founder
Pastor Mrs. Okunbor Anothian is a caring and dedicated co-founder who plays a vital role in the growth and development of the school. Her love for children and passion for their well-being have helped create a warm and supportive environment for learning. She also established the school’s food centre, where students are provided with quality meals, making her a cherished and valued part of the school community
Hands-On Learning
We promote practical learning where students actively participate in creative and skill-based activities. Through hands-on experiences, they gain a deeper understanding of what they are taught in class while developing confidence, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Cultural Day Celebration
Our Cultural Day provides students with the opportunity to showcase their traditions through dressing, music, and dance. This event encourages cultural awareness, unity, and mutual respect, helping students appreciate the richness and diversity of different backgrounds
Public Speaking & Confidence
